XRAY NT1 drivers were the A- and B-Main Champions in the Kota Kinabalu HMS Racing 1/10 & 1/8 GP race 2008. Here again the XRAY NT1 dominated on the Serpent âśnesting ground.âť With 4 NT1 cards in the A, Emeel again showed the true colors of the XRAY car & team capabilities to conquer the 35min A-main with consistent driving. Jason Lim from Brunei took 3rd position. This race was attended by sixty 1/10 participants from Malaysia and Brunei.

In the qualifying round he took 2nd position with 15-laps 5:00sec after Mizan (S720) at 16-laps 5:18sec, which was very close to the 19.4sec overall best lap by Emeel. Starting in 2nd position, after 1 lap Emeel took the lead but was clipped from the back and fell to 8th position. He reclaimed the 2nd position within 2 laps and maintained that position 2.5sec behind the leader. After the 2nd refueling, the lead car collapsed with a broken universal and Emeel took the opportunity to maintain his position until the final 2 minutes. The race was stopped due to a race timing system problem. After calculations and discussions, Emeel was declared the winner.

Another 2 fast qualifying team members â” Baharuddin and Mahadzir from Team XRAY Malaysia â” were having a tough time with car and engine problems and only placed at 9th & 10th.
The B-Main was running well, with Ahmad from Brunei NT1 Team leading for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, a tire came off and caused him to drop to 4th position. Yet another NT1 Brunei Team member (Chris Lim) took over the lead and won the 25min race.
